Just as a data point, I'm also using a Quantum Fireball 1280S with
a 1542CF, and the Quantum works fine:
(aha0:0:0): "QUANTUM FIREBALL1280S 630C" type 0 fixed SCSI 2
(aha0:1:0): "QUANTUM LIGHTNING 730S 241E" type 0 fixed SCSI 2
(aha0:4:0): "TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-3401TA 0283" type 5 removable SCSI 2
I wish I could dump the 1542CF for something faster, but equally
reliable, though. Unfortunately, -current is too risky for me, and
-stable doesn't seem all that stable. ;-(
This is under 2.1R.
