John Baldwin recently committed a fix that allows me to use it again, however, there's a new issue which isn't as bad as an interrupt storm, but which causes the same problems which you describe. Have you tried setting `hw.acpi.force_sci_lo=1' at the loader prompt? Maybe you're simply having an interrupt storm. Pete...
