I have routed enabled to network my tow boxes together over ethernet. When it starts, I get a message to the effect of '224.0.0.2 not found' File: messages Col 0 9256 bytes Oct 26 19:25:44 dania routed[78]: sendto(ed0, 224.0.0.2): No route to host I never defined this route that I know of, and would like to get rid of the error message. I have another question too. I am using this freebsd box as a network gateway, and I want it to ppp -auto for a linux box on the net. The problem is that after I define the alias alias port 10.0.0.2:telnet telnet it wants to dial the network before letting me telnet to the box. It is also using the sendmail on the linux box to dial the isp every 15 mins, and it's getting annoying. I realize that I can shut it down or take the -q statement out of the line. I also read that I can put it into ppp.conf, but I cannot remember the syntax. I've been reading alot of docs, and am totally new to ethernet. I am willing to install ipfw, if that'll fix it, and anything else I might have to do. I just need to be pointed in the right direction. One more thing. /etc/networks, and /etc/gateways. Anyone have a sample file for me. I realize this is alot to ask, but I need help with this, big time. Tnx in advance. Curtis D.
