I have a brand-spanking-new PII machine which I can't get working for the life of me! It has motherboard SCSI (Adaptec 7890). I downloaded the source tree from Doug's FTP site (ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/aic/) and even re-compiled the kernel. I am able to boot from Doug's install disk image and install RedHat just fine (mounts and copies to the SCSI drive, no problem), but on re-boot, the system chokes when trying to open the root device: Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root device 08:01 Any ideas?
