I ran mail over NFS for a while, as well as using a mail program that
didn't do locking to sort my mail. In both cases I'd lose mail when
two messages arrived at the same time. They would both be written to
the same place in the mail spool file, causing all kinds of fun
corruption that took weeks to track down.
