If you want palm pilot functionality, then first install:
palm/gnomepilot2

If you don't, then you can define the make variable WITHOUT_PILOT

portupgrade:

portinstall -m '-DWITHOUT_PILOT' mail/evolution

normal ports:

make -DWITHOUT_PILOT

This should fix your problem.
