Once complete I have been allowing it to run under no load, and have noticed that the load averages Hovering around 0.40 - 0.50 (see below). I have TERM'd and killed just about everything and the usage remains. I have never seen any other server do This with any other build. Is there something new in 9.x that might be causing this? I have servers running 8.0 With lots of software running that is not this high. I am not at all concerned about the hardware as it was an active server with no issues, and the system compiled without any issues. root@spare:/usr/local/etc/rc.d # top -Sa -s10 last pid: 3715; load averages: 0.43, 0.44, 0.43 up 0+08:55:07 08:14:46 33 processes: 2 running, 30 sleeping, 1 waiting CPU: 0.0% user, 0.0% nice, 0.0% system, 0.0% interrupt, 100% idle Mem: 12M Active, 309M Inact, 104M Wired, 88M Buf, 560M Free Swap: 4096M Total, 4096M Free PID USERNAME THR PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE C TIME WCPU COMMAND 11 root 2 155 ki31 0K 16K RUN 1 17.8H 200.00% [idle] 12 root 17 -84 - 0K 136K WAIT 0 0:42 0.00% [intr] 8 root 1 16 - 0K 8K syncer 1 0:21 0.00% [syncer] 13 root 3 -8 - 0K 24K - 0 0:07 0.00% [geom] 14 root 1 -16 - 0K 8K - 1 0:04 0.00% [yarrow] 977 gpeel 1 20 0 16224K 5452K select 0 0:02 0.00% sshd: me@pts/0 (sshd) 15 root 16 -68 - 0K 128K - 1 0:01 0.00% [usb] 9 root 1 -16 - 0K 8K vlruwt 1 0:01 0.00% [vnlru] 974 root 1 20 0 16224K 5368K select 0 0:00 0.00% sshd: me [priv] (sshd) 16 root 1 -16 - 0K 8K sdflus 1 0:00 0.00% [softdepflush] 981 root 1 20 0 10864K 2860K pause 1 0:00 0.00% _su (csh) 7 root 1 -16 - 0K 8K psleep 1 0:00 0.00% [bufdaemon] 0 root 9 -52 0 0K 72K - 1 0:00 0.00% [kernel] 980 gpeel 1 20 0 10092K 2116K wait 1 0:00 0.00% su 4 root 1 -16 - 0K 8K psleep 0 0:00 0.00% [pagedaemon] 3715 root 1 20 0 9892K 2136K CPU1 1 0:00 0.00% top -Sa -s10 978 gpeel 1 22 0 10864K 2804K pause 1 0:00 0.00% -tcsh (tcsh) 1 root 1 20 0 8036K 588K wait 0 0:00 0.00% [init] 408 root 1 20 0 12132K 3708K select 1 0:00 0.00% /sbin/devd 941 root 1 52 0 9544K 1524K ttyin 1 0:00 0.00% /usr/libexec/getty Pc ttyv 885 root 1 20 0 13468K 4968K select 0 0:00 0.00% /usr/sbin/sshd 943 root 1 52 0 9544K 1524K ttyin 0 0:00 0.00% /usr/libexec/getty Pc ttyv 946 root 1 52 0 9544K 1524K ttyin 1 0:00 0.00% /usr/libexec/getty Pc ttyv 947 root 1 52 0 9544K 1524K ttyin 0 0:00 0.00% /usr/libexec/getty Pc ttyv 942 root 1 52 0 9544K 1524K ttyin 1 0:00 0.00% /usr/libexec/getty Pc ttyv root@spare:/usr/local/etc/rc.d # ps ax PID TT STAT TIME COMMAND 0 ??
