I have my speakers hooked up through my monitor via HDMI and they work fine but even though there is a microphone port on the monitor it doesn't show in /dev/sndstat... btw it reads: pcm0: <NVIDIA (0x0051) (HDMI/DP 8ch)> (play) pcm1: <NVIDIA (0x0051) (HDMI/DP 8ch)> (play) default pcm2: <Realtek ALC892 (Rear Analog 7.1/2.0)> (play/rec) pcm3: <Realtek ALC892 (Front Analog)> (play/rec) How do I get it to work with HDMI (vchan 2 above) since the mic is integrated into my headphones? -- Aryeh M.
