As would happen, I've run up against the wall on the size of entries in an /etc/group line, both in number of users per gorup, and line length. I got all happy about this and changed the default sizes in getgrent.c and recompiled libc, but it didn't make a whit of a difference. Are there a great deal of other parameters which would need to be changed? I didn't stumble across any, but I didn't look incredibly hard. (And yes, I did split the groups up in to users1, users2:, etc, and it works, but it's an ugly little hack. :-) -Dave Andersen -- angio@aros.net Complete virtual hosting and business-oriented system administration Internet services.
