That must be something very simple, but I don't seem to be able to figure it out :( I am trying to install FreeBSD 2.1 on a 486 machine with 16M RAM, 154x SCSI card and 1G drive (2.0 was running just fine on the same machine) and here is the problem: The installation goes very smoothly without any error messages, however when at the end I exit from the installation utility the machine cannot load from the HD at all. I looked into the partition table on the HD and was surprised to see that at the location pointed to by the 'Active Partition' record I could find nothing but 'F6'es. I think I tried everything I can think of, however the results were always the same. At the end I even decided to let the installation utility partition and label the HD but that did not change anything. Then I thought that it might be a problem with the machine so I moved the HD to another PC and tried again - same result. The only thing I did not try was changing the HD (Quantum Fireball) but unfortunately this is the only disk I can play with at this point. What am I missing? Please help! Thanks! Jivko
