Before I cast my vote on this issue, I would really wish that the members of core who have strong opinions on this issue would come forward and talk about them in a public forum. The only thing I have seen from core (I am on -hackers, -current, and -smp) is second and third hand from other developers. I do not believe that core is unaware of this current conversation, and I would appreciate it if they came forward. As it stands now we certainly appear to have "the dark side of core" and all other problems notwithstanding this one must be addressed first. We need these lines of communication open. -- David Cross | email: crossd@cs.rpi.edu Systems Administrator/Research Programmer | Web: http://www.cs.rpi.edu/~crossd Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, | Ph: 518.276.2860 Department of Computer Science | Fax: 518.276.4033 I speak only for myself. | WinNT:Linux::Linux:FreeBSD To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-smp" in the body of the message
