Hi! I vaguely remember, that by using the libtool port (instead of vendor's own libtool script) one could prevent the .la files from being installed along with the binary libraries. That does not seem to work any more... Is there another way, or are these files considered: a) good thing; b) unavoidable? Thanks! -mi
