On a 4.9-STABLE box that was running gnome-dev (2.5.9?? for marcuscom.com), on Tuesday, 4/6, I cvsup'ed the ports, downloaded gnome_upgrade.sh and tried to upgrade to 2.6. It failed with: *** UPGRADE FAILED *** ===> /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade failed to run a recursive upgrade on glib-2*. The output of the failed build is in /var/tmp/gnome_upgrade_log.QTO5Mt. If you require additional help in figuring out why the upgrade failed, please compress /var/tmp/gnome_upgrade_log.QTO5Mt and send it to freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.org. When I looked at the log file, the tail of it read: ===> Cleaning for liferea-0.4.6e_2 ===> Vulnerability check disabled ===> Extracting for liferea-0.4.6e_2 >> Checksum mismatch for liferea-0.4.6e.tar.gz. ===> Refetch for 1 more times files: liferea-0.4.6e.tar.gz ===> Vulnerability check disabled >> liferea-0.4.6e.tar.gz doesn't seem to exist in /usr/ports/distfiles/. >> Attempting to fetch from http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/lifere a/. fetch: liferea-0.4.6e.tar.gz: local modification time does not match remote >> Attempting to fetch from http://aleron.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/lifere a/. fetch: liferea-0.4.6e.tar.gz: local modification time does not match remote >> Attempting to fetch from http://umn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/liferea/. fetch: liferea-0.4.6e.tar.gz: local modification time does not match remote >> Attempting to fetch from ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/. fetch: ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/liferea-0.4.6e.tar.gz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access) >> Couldn't fetch it - please try to retrieve this >> port manually into /usr/ports/distfiles/ and try again. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/net/liferea. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/net/liferea. ** Command failed [exit code 1]: /usr/bin/script -qa /tmp/portupgrade13781.1 make BATCH=yes GNOME_UPGRADE_SH_VER=42 GNOME_UPGRADE_SH _VER=42 ** Fix the problem and try again. ---> Skipping 'x11/gnome2-fifth-toe' (gnome2-fifth-toe-2.5.92) because 'net/liferea' (liferea-0.4.6e) failed ** The following packages were not installed or upgraded (*:skipped / !:failed) ! sysutils/gconf-editor (gconf-editor-2.5.92,1) (patch error) ! net/liferea (liferea-0.4.6e) (checksum mismatch) * x11/gnome2-fifth-toe (gnome2-fifth-toe-2.5.92) When looking through the log file, I also noted: tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libmetal.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libpixmap.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libredmond95.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libferret.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libgail.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libatk-bridge.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libsvg.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/loaders/svg_loader.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/filesystems/libgnome-vfs.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libdwellmouselistener.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libkeymouselistener.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libindustrial.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libsmooth.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libcrux-engine.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libhcengine.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/liblighthouseblue.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libmist.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/2.4.0/engines/libthinice.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: lib/gtk-2.0/modules/libgail-gnome.so: Cannot stat: No such file or directory Yet, as far as I can tell, gtk-2.4.0 installed correctly. Given this info any thoughts, or do I need to send someone the comprressed log file? Thanks Jim Ballantine
