% "grok" isn't in my vocabulary. I assume it means "support" or "handle" > It's from a Heinlein novel (perhaps _Stranger in a Strange Land_? Sorry, Yes, from _Stranger in a Strange Land_, from the character Michael Smith, who was raised by Martians. It is a Martian word, apparently, adapted for human speech. > I can't recall things that I've read that long ago... Maybe _I will Fear > No Evil_?). Basically, it means "understand" (though in the Heinlein > context it meant far more...) It means to understand fully, in the context of the thing being understood. In this case, a drive that "groks" tagged commands would both implement them *and* do something useful with them. -- "Where am I, and what am I doing in this handbasket?"
