FreeBSD requires at least 8MB for install (maybe even 12) so it's 
probably a no-go for you.

Even if you were to install freebsd you can't expect Netscape and any
decent GUI to run in 4 megs of ram, you'd probably need to use lynx
and pine for www/email.
