About tosha:
		Did you ever try to compile the actual cdda2wav?
		ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/alpha

		If you replace the SCSI transport, it should
		work as cdrecord - it uses the cdrecord SCSI transport 
		library.


About /etc/rmt :

		It seems that many companies (in this case SGI) did not
		understand the rmt protocol right.

		From peeking into the SGI /etc/rmt binary, it seems that
		there is no real RMT V2 protocol but a plain old
		BSD 4.2 V.0 rmt with a funny V command.


		But how about adding support for the rmt V1 protocol
		defined with SYSVr4. This add real interesting new
		features:

		- Support for the rmtioctl commands bejond 0..7
		  (WARNING: even 0..7 are violated by Linux & AIX)

		- Byteorder and structure size independent fetching
		  of the rmt status structure


If you arre interested to implement this, first have a look into
the file star/remote.c in the star distribution.
