Subject: Java and the JDK port

I've read a while back that there was an effort to port the Java
JDK to FreeBSD. Is there anyone familiar with this that knows how
far it's gone? Since I'm dying to do some Java code I'm hoping it's
far enough for me to offer myself as an alpha or beta tester.
