Nobody is really innocent! I can tell you what worked for me. I cd'ed into the freetype2 port directory, and did a "make deinstall" and then "make reinstall". I also did my "pkgdb -F", and I was then able to go on with the Xstuff that I was originally installing with the error first occurred. It worked... Cheers, J.
