Subject: freebsd as NIS-client?

I have problems using my freebsd-3.3 box as a NIS client.
I've succesfully set up NIS on my Slackware Linux by adding
+ to /etc/passwd and /etc/group, setting domainname and starting ypbind.

On freebsd I did this:
domainname "the right domain"
ypbind

As far as I understand I should then be able to
get a host by issuing
ypwhich

But it runs for about 2 minuttes (and then i cancel it).

I've browsed this mailing list to find answers/directions
for the setup. All I found was "man nis" and reading this
didn't help.

The master is a Digital Unix 4.0d.
