When running the machine with SMP kernel, semi-heavy to heavy
io will result in disks hanging. The system still runs but processes waiting
on the partition which resides on hung disk stop in D state.
No messages appear on the console when activity stops.
>How-To-Repeat:
In this particular case, the application doing the IO is mysql.
>Fix:
Workaround is to disable SMP operation, the system will then run fine.
This dmesg is from the system when running without SMP.
