Your mods look excellent to me. I did have hier(7) in mind, but many ports seem to disregard this, so I erred on the side of caution. You took the other turn, which is fine by me. Adding a non-priviledged user to run the executable is of course the correct thing to do. I should have thought of that myself. Updating the port to 1.6 should be trivial - just change PORTVERSION and the distinfo file. The config file of exisiting installations should be updated with the new 'piddir' variable, though. The smokeping executable will complain about this anyway. /Lars ----- Original Message ----- From: <kuriyama@FreeBSD.org> To: <lars@thegler.dk>; <kuriyama@FreeBSD.org>; <freebsd-ports@FreeBSD.org> Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 12:48 PM Subject: Re: ports/36006: New port: net/smokeping - Latency logging and graphing system > Please check whether you like my modifications or not.
