I also have Problems with regular SCSI bus resets. I also have the ASUS
P2B-S with AIC 7890. My discs are:

QUANTUM Model: VIKING 4.5 SCA Rev: 880R
Quantum Model: XP32150W Rev: L912
QUANTUM Model: XP34550W Rev: LXY4

on the UW bus and

TEAC Model: CD-ROM CD-532S Rev: 1.0A
SyQuest Model: SQ3270S Rev: 3_05
HP Model: C1533A

on the FAST-II bus.

Is there any information avaible, which devices have problems on heavy
loades systems so I can decide which one to replace?

Cheers

Berthold
