I have a desire to implement it, but not sure when I'll get to it. It is
behind the needs-to-be committed work I have in projects/virtio [1] and
user/bryanv/vtnetmq [2] branches, and supporting MMIO.

I hadn't looked yet on how easily the VirtIO serial fits it with how
FreeBSD does things. The VirtIO spec is written with mostly Linux in mind
and usually takes varying amounts of extra effort to adapt to FreeBSD.
