I am trying to set up an automated procedure to transfer some files from one machine to another at regular time intervals using a crontab. But I can't make it work, and wonderedif you can tell me where I am going wrong. I have set up a .netrc file which looks like machine panther.uwo.ca login whocking password ________ macdef action and I have defined a file called "action" which says cd dir1 ls put testst.txt quit --- which is my underatanding of the correct procedure. But I get a message "Macro definition missing null line terminator" I have no idea what this means, or what to do about it - or even whether I have dome something competely wrong. Any suggestions? tks Wayne Hocking To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
