The first line is not going to do anything (I think, rc.conf has surprised me before). It should have the interface name. So either of these two lines should work: ifconfig_re0="DHCP" or ifconfig_re0="inet 192.168.15.2 netmask 255.255.255.0" If both were in rc.conf, the second would overwrite the earlier one. I generally use "SYNCDHCP" to be sure a lease is obtained before the rc scripts go on.
