I did a thorough check of the ports tree, and the only ports that use graphics/mpeg-lib are graphics/gimp1 and graphics/gimp-devel It would appear (I've not checked completely) that it would be relatively straightforward to patch all three ports to avoid this naming conflict. As for other systems, at least the Ximian gimp packages for RedHat do not appear to use this plugin/library. In fact, from my tests here with gimp (on FreeBSD, with no library conflicts), the plugin actually _fails_ to load about 95% of the MPEG files I have, which leads me to think that it's pretty much a waste of time worrying about it. Of course, other people will have a different opinion on that.
