Partition & mount your new volume on, say /mnt 2. cd /usr 3. find -x . -print | cpio -pmduv /mnt 4. Unmount /mnt and /usr 5. Mount new partition onto /usr 6. Edit /etc/fstab to reflect the changes 7.
