That doesn't seem to apply to digital cameras, though.
At least all of those that I have taken into consideration for
my purchase measure resolution and CCD size in full pixels.
(E.g. the Kodak DC240 is 1280 × 960, and its CCD is 1.3
Mpixels, and those are definitely "real" pixels.)
