Good point.  So few Americans understand the difference between "You
are free to do as you wish", which is freedom, and "you can have this
without paying me for it", which is cost reduction.

How this ever became associated with the word "free" is beyond me; it
is quite an ugly abuse of the language.  Perhaps this perversion was
introduced into the language by the Trilateral Commission as yet
another attempt to enslave us through language?  ;^)
