here's an interesting cut from a "ps -auxw" listing: peterb 870 4.2 6.5 292 944 p3 SN 7:00PM 0:00.18 ./rxvt -bg VSZ RSS Can someone explain to me how RSS can possibly be larger than VSZ? I thought VSZ necessarily included the portion of the executable resident in memory. Yours in confusion, Peter
