OK, what I can tell is this: The technical background/FAQ is very good, although what's missing IMHO is the lack of slightly advanced information. It's either WAAAAY technical or too newbie. I mean, afaik the questions I have asked weren't that newbie-like. (at least I hope not =) Q. What does the average person want to cvsup? A. The ports, docs and sources. Q. What would be the best place for cvsup files? A. /usr/src Q. What would the average person use for cvsup mode? A. checkout mode, to avoid all those cryptic ,v and Attic files ( ;) ) Q. To monitor the compilation/build process what would I use? A. simply use commands like 2>&1, tee, and the likes. Q. What exactly does 'make world' do? A. executes make buildworld and make installworld Q. OK, so what does make buildworld do? A. ? Q. And how about make installworld?
