Hi and thanks, I have a USB modem (CMOTECH) that just has to be different. It needs a virtual ethernet to talk to it, great, PPPoE. No. Instead it needs a cuaU. I have managed to get the necessary mods into /dev/usb/if_cdce.c with = rebuild usbdev -d shows cdce0 throught to 2 there. As cdce is a generic device I need another driver to make cdce work = like a cua. Ucom wont do it, what else do I have at my disposal in FreeBSD 6.1 Cheers John
