I wanted to install FreeBSD 2.0 on my Cx486DX40-PC with 32 Meg's of RAM and an Adaptec 1542B - SCSI-Controller (BIOS-Version 3.2). FreeBSD boots correctly, but detects the SCSI-Adapter-Card as a 1542C/CF: aha0 1542C/CF detected, unlocking mailbox aha0 reading boardsettings, dma=5 int=11, bus speed defaulted (correct) aha0 waiting for scsi-device to settle aha0 targ0 lun0: type 0 (direct) fixed disc scsi 2 aha0 targ0 lun0: <conner CPP2105s 2.14GB2847> sd0: 2048MB (4194304 total sec, 3940 cyl, 10 head, 106 sec, bytes/sec 512) ... changing root device to fd0c At this point, the FreeBSD hangs. After disabling the Adapter with the /kernel -c option, the systems boots, but I didn't have any chance to connect to the hard-disc (of course). Can somebody help me?
