Well, I'm very pleased to report that I now have a successful install of FreeBSD up and running! Finally! Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner, but I decided to try installing on an external USB drive I have here, and it worked just fine. Got X configured and running and everything. I am pleased. :-) Thanks to everyone for all the helpful suggestions. I'm still going to work on installing on my main drive, of course. But at least now I can dump Linux altogether and still have a working FreeBSD. Goodbye and good riddance, Linux! :-) -- Conrad J. Sabatier conrads@cox.net
