It should not be dying on a warning (not that there even should be a
warning there, that line is OK). What are the lines leading up to this
and at what point of the build does this happen?

My best advice is that age-old solution, re-CVSup, then,

  # chflags -R noschg /usr/obj/usr && rm -rf /usr/obj/usr
  # cd /usr/src
  # make cleandir

Then try again.
