Dear Sir,

Please forgive me if my sudden e-mail disturbs you. My name is
Hiro Sugisaka, working at SOFEL Co.,Ltd. located in Japan.

I would like to know if I can use FreeBSD for my future business,
but I don't know where to ask this question. I would appreciate
if you could forward my e-mail to an right person who can answer
my question.

We are about to start up the Internet providing service in Japan.
We will provide the connections of the Internet, like T-1 IP
connection, dial-up IP connection, UUCP connection and so on.
I have set up our system with Sun workstations, but now I would
like to use FreeBSD for our FTP server, News server, WWW server
and other additional services, beside providing the connection
service.

I know that I can buy BSD/OS for that kind of case. But my point
is, there may be no benefit for the BSD volunteer activities though
I will work for finding the bugs and adding some features which we
may need in our system while we do our Internet providing services.

I know it is not a big problem for us to buy BSD/OS for it, in
terms of its price. All what I am thinking is, I will pick up
FreeBSD which you are trying to make it a stable FREE Unix operating
system, because I want to contribute to your activities if we can.

I do not think that we'll sell FreeBSD itself, we just use it
for our services toward our customers and other Internet users.
And though I say I'll use FreeBSD for our services, there may be a
slight possibility that we have to stop using it because of its
bugs which bring us a serious problem in our services.

I hope you understand my point. If you permit us to use FreeBSD
for our system, I am sure that it will be a good example for
FreeBSD users in terms of how to use FreeBSD at the connection of
the Internet. If people can login the system, they can read and get
our configurations of inn, httpd, proxy and so on.

Thank you very much for reading my e-mail. If you'll have some
questions, please e-mail me. I'll be looking forward to hearing
from you.

Regards,

Hiro Sugisaka
Director of R&D
SOFEL Co.,Ltd.
