look in /usr/src/sys/i386/isa/syscons.c for user_default and kernel_default.

one of the first things i always change, as i like cyan on black
regular text, and yellow on black kernel messages...

another thing to change would be in /usr/src/sys/i386/isa/syscons.h
would be the HISTORY_SIZE if you like more scrollback buffering...
