You got that right. If you have a Serial port avialable, I would get an External USR Modem (No Win Modem-They don't even work well under Windoz) I also stay a way from cheap HSP Modems I think they are software driven as well and won't be a good choice. If I were you I would get an external Serial Modem that uses a regular 16550 UART. USR External Modems they are pricy usually in the $150 US dollar range.
