But there some modules which cannot coexist. I prefer to build a custom kernel over loading modules. Of course, as this does not always lead to a perfect solution, I still have some kernel modules which are loaded at boot time or even after the system is up and running via a script I start manually. With other words, FreeBSD gives you all the freedom you need to get the best solution for your needs.
