Installed: rh5.1 (2.0.35) + aic7xxx 5.1.4 Problem: I had a letter before stating some aborts and bus resets with 5.1.2. (Nov. 14, 1998: "aic7890 + QVK" on this list) Applying the patches for 5.1.4 everything changed, I can not boot properly with aic7890: After identifying the two hosts and the two disks, probably when trying to access other data from HDD during boot-up: ! SCSI disk error host 0 channel 0 id 0 lun 0 return code = 28000002 ! extra data not valid Current error sd08:01: sense key Hardware Error ! scsidisk I/O error: dev 08:01, sector 1826, absolute sector 1827 Repeating the last two lines about 4-10 times with different sector values. Soft-reset could restart the computer. If I connect the cable to the AHA-2940UW card there is no problem, I can boot up normally. I can supply some more information if needed.
