Volunteers welcome. I know that this suggestion won't get much traction; however, I firmly believe that this is an excellent example of where a paid programmer(s) or perhaps a foundation like the FreeBSD JAVA project might be beneficial. While I never had much faith in the JAVA project, they never released a fully up-to-date release of Sun's Java, perhaps in this instance they might be more productive. Releasing EOL'd versions of software is hardly an inducement for potential new users to try a new OS or for the implementation of newer and more robust applications. I know that the FreeBSD team is in a race with Firefox to see who can reach version 20 first, but perhaps before they consider releasing a new major version number they first get the base system 100% current. Now, if you will excuse me, I want to look out my window and watch the elephants fly. -- Jerry ♔ Disclaimer: off-list followups get on-list replies or get ignored.
