hello...

i am inquiring whether or not anybody else is having trouble with the
Adaptec AIC7xxx drivers in Linux 2.1.105...

we have adpaptec 2940 UW controllers...

it started off bad and has just been getting worse... i have one machine
that "gets stuck" during boot in the scsi initialization (about 80% of the
time)... if i press return, it goes along and is happy... i can be more
specific if necessary...

i have three more machines that "seg fault" (dereference a null pointer)
during boot, if i recall correctly, during the partition check... this
happens also about 80% of the time...

once in a while, it will boot fine... the only difference i can see
immediately b/w the machines is that the one has a v1.23 scsi bios and the
others have a v1.25... they are all super micro motherboards...

none of these problems were around in Linux 2.1.90 or 2.1.75 - the
previous kernels i have been using...

any ideas... has it been "fixed" in a newer kernel version...

thanks,
sean b house
