Well, this is only regarding version 5.3, which is definitely a beta which
is not ready for public consumption. As long as the documentation as a
whole (original readmes, texinfo file for those not willing to suffer
through info) is included, and as soon as I manage to get a `public'
release, I don't see any other problems.

What I am wanting to do is to establish very clearly tracker status:
betas such as these should not have reached general release. I already get
lots of bug-reports which I have to check... having them come either from
`stable' versions or from established beta-testers I know gets it rather
easier.

Also, I consider it normal that bugs should be left in code at the beta
stage. On the other hand, public releases I strive to make crystal-clean.
Betas re-packaged as `official' releases reflect badly upon my programming
skills, and may be damaging to users expecting quality code.

I just wish for that particular beta to vanish from freebsd. I sincerely
hope I'll have a regular release ready soon. This one you are obviously
free to include with FreeBSD, no problems. In fact, I WILL be interested
in eventual porting problems.

Also, I understand plainly that the problem appeared at a previous stage,
and that you're not responsible for it. No serious harm done... I will just
have to suffer through some unneeded bug-reports (probably) as 5.3 has some
well-known problems, and I will try to get a `stable' version out soon.
