Does a > tape unit lose its position or data when it receives a bus reset? I get this also when doing backups on my HP C1533 with tapes that are older/bad. The drive seems to retension itself, or something similar, during the middle of accessing it. Using a newer tape doesn't exhibit the same problem. Usually, my system will lock up when this happens.
