In order to run a remote xterm, the host you're logged into has to have a netowrk connection to your machine, or you have to run a program that makes it think it has a network connection. running ppp is one way to get a network connection. A way of making a system think it has a network connection is to use slirp. Running a serial communications program like seyon or kermit alone is not sufficient, because there is no network connection. > > thanks > > fallot@ecc.nyseg.com > > ============================================================================ Chuck Robey chuckr@eng.umd.edu -- I run FreeBSD on n3lxx and Journey2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Dilbert Zone is Dilbert's new WWW home!
