Greetings everyone,

With the same configuration of tcp-wrappers, for some reason, on
2.1.6R, tcpd will not log to syslogd at all while -CURRENT will. Another
weird thing is that 2 2.1.6R machines will allow tcpd to work with rlogind
while 1 2.1.6R and one -current machine doesn't. rlogind didn't work on
all the 2.1.6R machines with tcpd but suddenly work last night and then
the -current machine was working and just didn't work suddenly.

Here is the output:

vince@mars [4:02pm][~] >> rlogin earth
rlogin: warning, using standard rlogin: remote host doesn't support
Kerberos.

vince@mars [4:02pm][~] >>

This is what it shows on the console on earth.GAIANET.NET:

Jan 6 16:03:37 earth rlogind[1603]: Can't get peer name of remote host:
Socket is not connected
Jan 6 16:03:37 earth rlogind[1603]: Can't get peer name of remote host:
Socket is not connected

	In /etc/inetd.conf:

login stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/libexec/tcpd /usr/libexec/rlogind

	in /etc/syslog.conf
local0.*;auth.info /var/log/tcpd.log

I did change the Makefile for tcp-wrapper from logging to AUTH to
LOCAL0.

Sample tcpd.log from the tcpd that works on the -current machine:

Jan 6 16:05:31 earth telnetd[1618]: connect from oahu-469.u.aloha.net
Jan 6 16:05:34 earth login: login from oahu-469.u.aloha.net as alien

	tcpd.log on 2.1.6R only shows:

Jan 6 15:30:22 mars shutdown: reboot by chad:
Jan 6 15:38:51 mars login: login from venus as vince
Jan 6 15:45:20 mars su: vince to root on /dev/ttyp0
Jan 6 16:02:44 mars login: login from venus as vince
