This will stop broadcast echo: sysctl -w net.inet.icmp.bmcastecho=0 For more info, check out http://www.rootprompt.net/freebsd_firewall.html Robert -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Eric Buchanan Sent: Friday, June 29, 2001 4:20 PM To: stable@freebsd.org Subject: How do I disable ping and echo in FreeBSD-Stable Hello Group, I am looking at how to disable pings and echoes, basically I want to do manually to FreeBSD what Titan does to Solaris 8 with the disable-pings-echoes.sh script. I've disabled all the echo entries in inetd.conf, as well as every other service I don't need there. Are there any steps I've missed? I searched under the mail list archives and didn't find any others. Thank you in advance, Eric _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
