https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D216426 Bug ID: 216426 Summary: graphics/gdal: Build failure on upgrade to gdal-2.1.2 Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: sunpoet@FreeBSD.org Reporter: freebsd@dirichs.fastmail.fm Assignee: sunpoet@FreeBSD.org Flags: maintainer-feedback?(sunpoet@FreeBSD.org) While updating the ports tree from FreeBSD 10.2 to 10.3, a new build of gdal-2.1.2 failed with the following error message: c++ -L/usr/local/lib -fstack-protector gdalinfo_bin.o=20 -L/usr/ports/graphics/gdal/work/gdal-2.1.2 -lgdal -ljson-c -L/usr/local/lib -lgeos_c -ljasper -ljpeg -lgeotiff -ltiff -lpng -L/usr/local/lib -lpq -llzma -lz -L/usr -L/usr/lib -lpthread -lm -lrt -L/usr/local/lib=20=20=20=20=20=20= =20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20 -L/usr/local/lib -lxml2 -lz -llzma -L/usr/lib -lm -o gdalinfo /usr/bin/ld: warning: libgif.so.6, needed by /usr/local/lib/libgdal.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link) The problem is caused by an upgrade of graphics/giflib which happened alons= ide with the gdal update. The old /usr/local/lib/libgdal.so that was already installed on my system linked to libgif.so.6, which was no longer around af= ter the upgrade. The above command fails because the specified library search p= ath "-L/usr/local/lib" finds the old libgdal first - which does not work any mo= re. Running the command without it as the first parameter: cd /usr/ports/graphics/gdal/work/gdal-2.1.2/apps && c++ -fstack-protector gdalinfo_bin.o=20 -L/usr/ports/graphics/gdal/work/gdal-2.1.2 -lgdal -ljson-c -L/usr/local/lib -lgeos_c -ljasper -ljpeg -lgeotiff -ltiff -lpng -L/usr/local/lib -lpq -llzma -lz -L/usr -L/usr/lib -lpthread -lm -lrt -L/usr/local/lib=20=20=20=20=20=20= =20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20=20 -L/usr/local/lib -lxml2 -lz -llzma -L/usr/lib -lm -o gdalinfo succeeds without any error. "-L/usr/local/lib" is specified many times more, this seems redundant to me. Anyway, only the first specification of "-L/usr/local/lib" causes an error since it is before "-L/usr/ports/graphics/gdal/work/gdal-2.1.2" which should be the first plac= e to look for gdal binaries. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
