It's not.  Or at least, you're welcome to tell me how 'sh -x' works 
when the user is a) using csh, b) types the command manually, and c) 
uses the -R argument to cp(1).

This option has _nothing_ to do with shell programming.  It's an aid 
for _interactive_ use.
