I am not sure on that, I've never seen a type 6 fat32, but then I have never purposefully tried to create one either. Win9x OSr2 and later fdisk creates them as type 11 if you answer yes to the Enable large disk question, if they are larger than some magic number, otherwise it just creates type 6 partitions.
